INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1-28 oz. can chopped tomatoes
1 cup chicken broth
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups heavy cream
COOKING TOOLS:
1 large heavy pot
1 wooden spoon
1 cutting board
1 knife
My wife was raised on a dairy farm in a small Montana town named Fairfield. This recipe is from that part of the country.
First, over medium heat, melt two tablespoons of butter in a large pot and saute one chopped medium onion, .
Now add 1 cup chicken broth, 1-28 oz. can diced tomatoes, 1/8 teaspoon baking soda and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cook until boiling.
Blend the contents (in a blender, of course) in batches.
Pour tomato soup back into pot.
Add two cups heavy cream.
Stir it in.
Eat and enjoy.
