Shhh! I Stole This Amazing Strawberry Gratin Recipe, And I’m Passing It On To You

INGREDIENTS:
Filling
4 1/2 cups strawberries (frozen or fresh)
1 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Kirche (This is optional. I used red wine, which is optional too)
Topping
6 slices of bread, torn into pieces
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

These are my neighbors, Trevor and Amanda. They are EXCELLENT cooks (you know they must be, if they subscribe to cooks illustrated). They brought dessert to dinner once. I was hooked. It was this strawberry gratin recipe I am sharing with you now.

First, mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl.

Now dump it into a 9" pie dish.

Next, throw all your topping ingredients into a food processor and process.

Now spread it on top of the strawberry mixture, and bake it in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minuets.

Now eat. This is such a simple recipe, that you have no excuse.
